The history of the village
Aldover goes back to the pre- iberian epoch settled in the the region called “Lo Tossal”, where bronzemetalls from arround 1500 b.c. where found. As well there where found some bits of points of spears with half moons in the region of “Vall del Llop” and in the dry river bed “Barranc de la Conca”. The village Aldover was finally formed due to the occupation of the arabians. The name “alduwàir” means "small house". In the year 1149 there was a crusade under earl Ramon Berenguer IV. The independence of Aldover from Tortosa came in the modern epoch between the 15th and the 18th century.
