L’Ampolla is within easy reach of Tarragona, Barcelona, Valencia and their airports due to its road and train links. To accommodate for its visitors L`Ampolla offers a variety of places to stay. There are original family run hotels overlooking the harbour, a new 4 star hotel on the west side of the village, and to the east, on the outskirts of the village, two hotels one of which is an apartment /hotel. Whilst in the village itself there are a wide variety of apartments to rent both long and short term, and well run camping grounds with facilities for camping cars and tents alike.

One of the major attractions to L’Ampolla is its coastline, protected by the outlying delta, its varied beaches are sheltered and calm. To the west are long sandy beaches, in the village there are smaller coves sandy or pebbled and these continue up the coast giving beach lovers plenty of choice. Nearly all of the beaches have either a beach bar or restaurant, some have volley ball nets, all have showers, and the larger ones have redcross vigilance. From these beaches there are a wide variety of water activities on offer including canoeing, snorkling, windsurfing, diving, sailing and jet and water skiing.
There is much more to L`Ampolla than its beaches , although they are worth spending a holiday on, the village offers a diverse variety of activities such as, bike, quad and moto rental all popular due to the close proximity of the delta and the mountains with their interesting wildlife, geography, and typical mediterranian farming. There is a weekly market, permanent art exhibitions, and throughout the summer an artisan market, open/air cinema, local and national fiestas which are celebrated in various expressions of Spanish and Catalan culture on land and sea.
L’Ampolla is one of the remaining working Catalunian fishing villages on the beautiful Costa Dorada, Spain. Behind this harbour front are the traditional shady streets and plazas of the village. Here an interesting mix of commerce can be found, from bakeries, delis, fishmongers, small supermarkets, greengrocers, and butchers, to boutiques, restaurants and art studios, all mixed in with typical Mediterranian activities such as fishermen mending their nets and farmers drying their almonds and carobs.
Children are an important aspect of Spanish life, consequently there are many children focused activities including a summer school, fancy dress parades, a magic night, sports centre and various play parks. There are a wide variety of bars and restaurants as well as late night pub/bar in a converted old hacienda offering DJ hours and out of town to the West an open air lazor lit discoteque all situated to not encroach on the village and its relaxed atmosphere.
