Xerta or Osikerda, which is the possible name of Roman- Iberian origin, according to historians. Xerta shares with Tivenys, on the other side of the Ebro, an aquaduct (l´assut) that could be constructed by the Romans. The people say that the best oranges (Xertolinas) of the region are those of Xerta. This fruit is cultivated during centuries on these lands of traditional farming. In Xerta meet the two routes "Green Route" and "the Route of Santiago.
